J.J. Abrams has announced that the still-untitled
Star Wars: Episode IX has finished principal photography. Reshoots are to be expected in the coming months, as is normal with any movie, but for the most part, the ending to the Skywalker Saga has been filmed and we are only ~10 months away from seeing if Abrams can bring fans together after the divisive Episode VIII.
It feels impossible, but today wrapped photography on Episode IX. There is no adequate way to thank this truly magical crew and cast. I’m forever indebted to you all. -@jjabrams
More information has been released about the previously announced
Breaking Bad film. It looks like it will be a sequel, and follow Aaron Paul’s Emmy-winning character Jesse Pinkman.
It is also rumored to air on Netflix first, before going to AMC, and will be written and directed by series creator Vince Gilligan. Other rumors expect the film to pick up shortly after Jesse’s escape in the finale episode.
After backlash from seemingly everyone from everyone, including fans and filmmakers themselves, The Academy Awards will hand out the previously cut awards on air.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had decided to cut the awards from Cinematography, Film Editing, Live Action Short, and Makeup and Hairstyling.
People have speculated that this was a move from above, as the Oscars are aired on ABC, a company owned by Disney whose movies are not in contention for the cut awards.
Psych fans rejoice, a second movie has been greenlit, and the pseudo-psychic detective agency will be back in Santa Barbara this time around.
Psych was one of my favorite shows, so I’m pretty happy to see more Gus and Shawn.
You hear about Pluto? That’s messed up.“
Coming Out This Week:
Feb 22 –
How To Train Your Dragon 3: The Hidden World
Slow week for movies, but luckily the
Train Your Dragon series is phenomenal and I’m super excited to see how they end the franchise (or run it into the ground à la Shrek)
This bio-flick about the life of
Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit writer J.R.R. Tolkien looks pretty awesome.
This looks creepy as shit.
This could be a really cool and smart movie, or it could be as good as that stupid joke Ed Sheeran makes in the trailer.
It’s interesting, none the less.
Feel to give me shit about this, like all the other editors did, but this was a damn good trailer and looks pretty interesting.
A couple shots and a punch in the head to forget the first movie, and I might go see this one.
