Thor: Love and Thunder’s impressive set takes shape in Sydney’s Centennial Park

Filming was officially underway for Thor: Love and Thunder on Tuesday at Sydney’s Fox Studios.

And with Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman [the God and Goddess of Thunder] in town, the film crew are hard at work building a sci-fi landscape in Centennial Park.

In images taken on Wednesday, an impressive set could be seen taking shape for what would likely be an upcoming fight/action scene.

The construction of the structure was in its early stages last Thursday, and now appears nearer to completion.

The Australian actor has played the hammer-wielding Norse god Thor in the Marvel franchise since 2011, and has starred in eight movies as the superhero character.

One was a yellow mobile crane telehandler to support a camera with operator.

There was also a red crane, and several other earth movers and electric scissor lifts.

Earlier this month, Daily Mail Australia obtained aerial photographs that revealed the full extent of the production, and it seems no expense has been spared.

Images of the set at Sydney’s Fox Studios revealed two large sound stages ready for filming, as well as an array of trailers for the cast and crew.

On Tuesday, Thor star Chris campaigned to change the date of Australia Day while documenting a traditional Welcome to Country ceremony from the Gamay dancers of the Gadigal and Bidiagal Nation and performances and karakia by Maori dancers from Te Aranganui.

‘Let’s begin the healing and stand together in unity and support with our First Nations people with solidarity and compassion. Let’s find a date where all Australians can celebrate this beautiful country together,’ he captioned a photo outside one of the Fox Studio sets.
