Two female teachers banned after one, 29, was filmed snogging pupil, 18, on drunken night out in Kent

TWO female teachers have been banned from the classroom after one was filmed snogging a pupil on a drunken night out in Kent.

Jennifer Arding, 29, and Charlotte Bradley, 32, were forced to resign after partying with teenagers in Rochester.

Arding, an RE teacher and deputy head of year, was caught “passionately kissing” an 18-year-old student in a nightclub, an inquest heard.

The boy then spent the night with the two teachers at Ms Bradley’s house.

Arding and Bradley downed wine and vodka before they set out for the night in December 2017, the Daily Mail reported.

The teachers went to the Casino Rooms club where they ran into a group of former pupils and began dancing with them, a misconduct hearing was told.

But one of the teens dancing with the pair was an 18-year-old boy who was still studying at St John’s Catholic Comprehensive School in Gravesend where they worked.

The unnamed teen, named only as Pupil A, and Ms Arding were later seen “in a firm embrace and kissing passionately” at the club, the inquest heard.

Their kiss lasted “for a few minutes” and “their arms were wrapped around each other.”

Although Pupil A and I shared a kiss, it was not my intention for this to happen

Ms Arding admitted snogging the teenager in a “a spontaneous moment of stupidity” at the disciplinary panel in Coventry.

But she insisted that the pupil had instigated the kiss – and her drinking prevented her from stopping him.

She said: “Although Pupil A and I shared a kiss, it was not my intention for this to happen.

“It is clear from talking to others who were present on the night that Pupil A instigated the kiss and was attempting to kiss others present.

“As I had consumed some alcohol on the night, I did not successfully stop this from happening and accept that this falls far below any professional standards expected from myself or indeed any teacher.”

She added: “The kiss that occurred… was a spontaneous moment of stupidity.”

The two teachers and Pupil A shared a cab back to Mrs Bradley’s house where all three spent the night – although nothing untoward happened.

Pupil A then got an Uber home early the next morning.

Arding later texted him: “Make sure that you won’t say anything about last night, I could lose my job over it.”

But the school opened an investigation after the mum of another student complained and video emerged of what happened at the club.

The teachers claimed their drinks were spiked – but both resigned.

They have been banned from teaching “indefinitely” by the Teaching Regulation Agency after being found guilty of “unacceptable professional conduct”.

The teachers can apply to re-enter after two years.
