UK weather forecast LIVE – Britain braces for ‘coldest May in 25 years’ before June forecast to ‘bring 16-day heatwave’

THIS month is on track to be the coldest May in 25 years, the Met Office has said.

May 2021 has reportedly been 2.1C colder than the average of 8.3C at this time of the year.

A Met Office meteorologist told the i that it could be the coldest May since 1996.

“It’s been a disappointing May and at the moment there are no particularly strong signs that trend will change in the next week,” Simon Patridge told the i.

However, in good news, warmer days are on the horizon with a long-range forecast from Accuweather predicting a 20C heatwave in June.

Sunnier conditions will make its first appearance on Bank Holiday Monday where temperatures are likely to hit 20C.
