THE WEEKEND is here but so is the rain as the UK is set for a washout weekend with chilly temperatures as Brits look forward to a hot May Bank Holiday.
Temperatures could hit 21C in Kent and the south by June 1 – with the mercury is set to go even higher.
London could even see highs of 22C and 23C, according to charts from Netweather.
But before that, rain showers are expected to hit the UK as Brits ditch beer gardens to booze indoors.
Forecasters say that there will also be heavy downpours across parts of the country, with up to 100mm of rainfall on higher ground.
Met Office spokesman Grahame Madge said that the wet weather will continue over the weekend and while the showers will be broken up by sunny spells it is uncertain how long these will be.
