STORM BELLA has been battering the UK – leaving thousands fearing for their safety as a ‘danger to life’ warning was issued.
BBC Weather said that, for Sunday night, heavy snow is forecast across western Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England, and there’s a significant ice risk on Monday.
Gale-force winds of up to 80mph were expected on Saturday night, particularly on the southern coastal reaches of England and Wales.
The Met Office warned that 15-25mm was likely to fall in Wales and south-west England, and up to 40-60mm over some hills.
Residents in more than 1,300 properties along the River Great Ouse in Bedfordshire were advised to leave their homes as water levels rose on Christmas Day.
