A man who climbed the Mont-Blanc made a fatal fall of 600 metres

An accomplished Italian mountaineer 36-year-old who climbed solo the north face of the Grandes Jorasses, in the Mont-Blanc massif, made on Monday, a fatal fall of 600 metres, a-t-on learned from mountain rescue.

“The man was climbing the north face alone and was not insured. It is a rope which ran over the one who gave the alert around noon, saw him fall,” said to AFP the peloton gendarmerie de haute montagne (PGHM) of Chamonix.

The fall of the climber came to the Walker Spur, one of the ways the most famous of the north face of the Grandes Jorasses between France and Italy.
