A FORMER adviser to Vice President Mike Pence said she will be voting for Joe Biden in the upcoming election due to President Trump’s “flat out disregard for human life” during the coronavirus pandemic.
Olivia Troye, who worked as homeland security, counterterrorism and coronavirus adviser to Pence for two years, left the White House in August.
She said the president’s “main concern was the economy and his reelection,” rather than the American people, and that the administration’s ongoing response is a “failure.”
Troye has joined a growing number of former Trump administration officials to express worry about what they saw during their time in the White House.
In a new ad released online, Troye claims that the president said during a meeting that he was glad the deadly virus had arrived in the United States because it meant he would no longer have to shake hands with people he found “disgusting.”
Troye has now joined more than two dozen other Republicans officials in an anti-Trump group devoted to bringing about “leadership change in the White House.”
