DONALD Trump has now ordered the Proud Boys to stand DOWN after the white supremacist group claimed he’d endorsed them.
Asked to condemn the far-right group during Tuesday’s Presidential debate, Trump instead told them to “stand back and stand by”.
The comment sparked anger and was immediately jumped on by the Proud Boys themselves who produced memorabilia emblazoned with the words “standing by” and called his comments “historic”.
But the President today sought to put the record straight, claiming he didn’t know who the Proud Boys were but ordering them to “stand down” and allow law enforcement to do their work.
