W Series Hockenheim FREE: TV channel, live stream, start time and schedule for women-only race opener

THE W SERIES kicks off in its historic inaugural season in Germany as 18 female drivers take to the Hockenheimring track in the women-only contest.

The new competition is aiming to get female racers into the top tier of motorsport, while the winner of the six-race tournament will collect $500,000 (£368,000) in prize money.

When is W Series Germany?

The inaugural all-women competition gets underway with the first race on Saturday, May 4.

Lights out will be at 3.10pm.

It will be held at the Hockenheimring in Germany.

What TV channel is it on and can I live stream it for FREE?

W Series Germany race will be shown live on Channel 4, with coverage underway from 2.45pm.

This is a free-to-air channel, providing you have a valid TV licence – available for £154.50 for a year.

What is the race schedule?

  • Practice 1: Friday, May 3 – 9am
  • Practice 2: Friday, May 3 – 2.30pm
  • Qualifying: Saturday, May 4 – 10.55am
  • Race: Saturday, May 4 – 3.10pm
