Since the Queen’s granddaughter, Princess Eugenie announced her engagement to long-time partner Jack Brooksbank, the palace has been gearing up for the second royal wedding of the year, set to take place on October 12.
The venue has been sorted, with the ceremony to tenant Windsor Castle, while the guest list has also been confirmed, including 1200 members of the public.
Now, everyone is curious as to exactly which members of the royal family will accompany the 28-year-old Princess down the aisle.
Of course, her older sister, Princess Beatrice has been confirmed as the maid of honour, while Theodora Rose Williams, the five-year-old daughter of pop star Robbie Williams (with whom the Princess has been friends with for years), has also made the bridal party.
But who else will trail this year’s second royal bride on her way to the altar?
Here are Princess Eugenie’s top bridal party contenders:
At age three, Charlotte has already been a bridesmaid in two high-profile weddings – those of her aunty Pippa Middleton, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – so she knows what’s up.
According to guests of this year’s Royal Wedding, the daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton took charge of the pint-sized bridal party and confidently doled out instructions.
Eugenie has also asked Prince George, five, to be one of her page boys. The little prince was praised for his performance at his uncle Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle in May, where he took on a leadership role when two-year-old flower girl Zalie Warren began to cry. Prince George apparently helped Nanny Maria Borrallo to comfort the little girl who began to have a ‘melt down’ during the proceedings.
A class-mate of Prince George’s at Thomas’s School, Battersea, Maud Windsor, the granddaughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and the daughter of Lord Frederick Windsor, could also make an appearance as a flower girl on the big day. Princess Eugenie is a godparent to Maud.
Princess Eugenie and fiance Jack Brooksbank, 31, will marry at Windsor Castle on October 12.
There will be representatives of charities supported by the couple, as well as members of the Royal Household staff, local community and the local schools, which the 28-year-old Royal once attended.
The remaining spots will be up for grabs with people able to apply for a spot via a public ballot.
Then, once they emerge from St George’s Chapel on the West Steps as husband and wife, they will set off on a small carriage ride around Windsor – as Meghan and Harry did in May.
Of course, royal fans are also excited to see what the Princess steps out in on the day. What she wears is of interest to women with curves who can’t always dress in the sample-sized styles of Meghan and Kate.
