ARSENAL continue to make waves in the summer transfer window.
Has Nicolas Pepe signed for Arsenal?
THE GUNNERS have been chasing highly-rated Lille star Pepe for the past fortnight.
Lille accepted the offer from Emery’s side, with SunSport revealing on Wednesday that he had flown into London for a medical.
Arsenal have now confirmed their new marquee signing, who joins for a club record fee of £72million.
The previous record was the £56m paid to Borussia Dortmund in January 2018 for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Which shirt number is he wearing?
PEPE completed his move on August 1 and will be in contention for Arsenal’s season opener against Newcastle.
The flying winger scored 37 times in 79 games for Lille, where he wore the No19 shirt.
He heads across the channel to North London where he will wear the same number for the Gunners.

Who has worn that number before for Arsenal?

Over the years, there’s been plenty of hits – and a few misses – to wear the same jersey.
Santi Cazorla was a hugely popular star at the Emirates before injuries took their toll, whilst Gilberto Silva was a key part of the Invincibles squad of the 2000’s alongside Patrick Vieira.
On the other side of the coin, Junichi Inamoto arrived at Highbury in 2001 with a huge reputation but was unable to force his way into the first-team in a disastrous spell at the club.
