Who are Fran Scott and Matthew Ashton? Meet the Lego Masters experts on Channel 4

LEGO Masters has returned to our screens with a brand new series.

But who exactly are the experts Fran Scott and Matthew Ashton? Here’s the lowdown…

Who is Fran Scott?

Fran Scott is a scientist and engineering expert who works as The Royal Institution’s Science Content Developer.

She wants to help bring about an increase in female scientist role models we see on television.

After working behind the scenes for shows like Horizon and Bang Goes the Theory, she decided to go in front of the camera.

Fran’s presented series for Children’s BBC, BBC Learning Zone and BBC Worldwide since then.

She will now be one of the experts on Channel 4’s new show Lego Masters alongside Matthew Ashton.

Who is Matthew Ashton?

Matthew is the Vice President of Design for the Lego Group who leads the teams that create building kits for kids of all ages.

From Lego Star Wars to Lego Harry Potter, Matthew has overseen it all.

He was also the executive producer of the LEGO Movie and The LEGO Batman Movie, and is currently working on The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part.

What is Lego Masters about?

The Channel 4 competition series aims to find Britain and Ireland’s most talented amateur Lego builders.

Each programme tests a wide array of disciplines from the playful, to the technical, to the unexpected.

They are then judged by the experts and some celebrity LEGO fans.

The programme will start on Channel on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 8 pm.
