Ayanam Udoma performed on The Voice TONIGHT and won a place in the competition.
Manchester has produced many great musicians, is he another star in the making?
Who is Ayanam Udoma?
Ayanam Udoma is a 27 year old writer and musician is from Manchester.
Although by day he works in digital marketing, he admits this is not his dream job and he regularly performs gigs at open mic nights.
He claims: “I knew music was my raison d’etre from the moment I first danced to the HIStory album” and that when he sings he “feels like a different person”.
Ayanam said performing on The Voice was on his “bucket list” and “just getting the chance to audition on this platform alone is unreal”.
He sang a cover of Oasis’ Wonderwall and managed to get Tom Jones to turn his chair round, meaning he will be coached by the legendary welsh singer.
When is The Voice 2019 on TV?
The format of the show is that contestants take part in blind auditions and the judges spin round in their chairs if they want to mentor them.
This week marks the last of the auditions and each coach will finish the episode with a team of singers to take further in the competition.
The show is hosted by Emma Willis and it airs every Saturday night at 8pm on ITV.
If you miss an episode, it is available to watch later on the ITV hub.
