Who is Charity Dingle actress Emma Atkins?

Emma Atkins was born on March 31, 1975, and grew up in the village of Silverdale in Lancashire.

The 43-year-old actress is best known for her role as Charity Dingle in the British soap opera, Emmerdale.

As well as her role on Emmerdale, Emma has made appearances on Heartbeat, I’m With Stupid, Doctors and Casualty.

Atkins has also acted on stage in productions of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Jim Cartwright’s Two.

Who does Emma Atkins play in Emmerdale?

Atkins plays the character of Charity Dingle in Emmerdale and first arrived in the village with her on-screen cousin Cain in 2000.

Charity is the daughter of Obadiah and Kathleen Dingle.

Her character previously went by the names of Tate, Sharma and Macey.

It was revealed that the foster child of Paddy and Emily Kirk was in fact Charity’s daughter Debbie, played by Charley Webb.

Is Emma Atkins married and does she have children in real life?

Emma is not married but has a child with her boyfriend Tom.

The show’s writers incorporated a storyline which saw Charity Dingle jailed for two years, which allowed for Atkins’ maternity leave.

Their son Albert was born on the actress’s 40th birthday in March 2015.

She described it as “the best present”.

What have her biggest storylines in the soap been?

One of Emma’s big storylines in the soap revolved around her and daughter Debbie, who was the foster child of Paddy and Emily Kirk.

In 2015, Charity Dingle was sentenced to two years in prison after confessing to insurance fraud.

She did this to get innocent Pete Barton out of jail.

After her release from prison, she became the owner of the Woolpack pub and met conman, Hugo.

Charity and Vanessa Woodfield shared some steamy scenes before Charity confessed to her partner that she had been raped as a teenager and had given birth to a son – who tracked her down.
