STRICTLY Come Dancing is gearing up for another series in 2018 and fans just can’t wait!

But who’s taking part and which professional dancers will be returning to the hit Saturday night show?

Here are the stars that are being tipped to join the line-up:

Anneka Rice

The Sun exclusively revealed that TV veteran Anneka is being lined up for this year’s Strictly.

The 59-year-old — famed for her jumpsuit-clad bum in Eighties hit Treasure Hunt — had a meeting at the BBC’s London HQ in early April 2018 after show chiefs contacted her.

If head judge Shirley Ballas gets her way, Cheryl will be joining the show.

The 57-year-old said: “I think Cheryl would be amazing.”

However, if the ballroom-based competition really do want the star, they might be in for a fight – after it was revealed that fans desperately wanted her back on rival show, The X Factor.

Nadiya Hussain

Nadiya could be swapping baking for dancing[/caption]

2015 Great British Bake Off champion Nadiya is also said to be taking part in the show.

She reportedly got dance fever when she watched the show being filmed in Elstree, Herts.

A Strictly source said: “Producers have openly said how much they would like to get Nadiya on the show.

“Nadiya is a big fan and loved getting the star treatment at the weekend. They pulled out all the stops and made her feel at home.”

Holly Willoughby

This Morning host Holly has also said that she’d like to take part in Strictly at some point.

The TV presenter is very popular amongst daytime viewers so would be a big hit on the show.

Michelle Keegan

Producers are hoping to sign Michelle Keegan

Producers are also said to be keen to sign Michelle, according to a new report.

A source claimed to The Daily Star On Sunday: “Everyone knows that having Michelle Keegan out on the Strictly dance floor would be ratings gold.

“Everyone behind the scenes thinks she would set the dance floor alight. It’s now a matter of convincing her to sign up.”

The insider also claimed bosses would be willing to sign off a large pay cheque for the former Coronation Street star because of her “huge” and young fan base.

Maya Jama

TV presenter Maya Jama, has seen her star soar over the last year.

She is now being tipped to be joining this year’s Strictly line-up.

Kate Bottley

Gogglebox star Kate Bottley wants to appear on the show

Gogglebox star Kate Bottley has revealed she’d like to take part in the 2018 series.

The priest has admitted she would love to star in the next series of Strictly Come Dancing, especially since “trailblazer” Reverend Richard Coles appeared.
She told the Daily Star: “I’ve not been asked. But I am sure the nation is ready to see my backside in sequins.
“I mean they did watch Rev Richard Coles – and he’s a trailblazer. Watch this space.”

Josh Cuthbert

Union J heart-throb Josh is also being lined up after bosses predict the boyband member will follow in the success of McFly’s Harry Judd.

A source said: “Josh has caught the eyes of producers and they’re seeing if he could take part. He could easily be a fan favourite.

“He’s young, in good shape and can dance. He’d be a strong signing.”

David James

Former England goalie David is also in talks.

It’s after show bosses were said to be really keen on signing a celebrity from the world of football.

Piers Morgan

Piers Morgan has said he would sign up to Strictly on the one condition that his rival Dan Walker also agrees to do the show.

Lord Alan Sugar has pledged to donate £50,000 to charity if frenemy Piers Morgan agrees to take part.

Montana Brown

Former Love Island star Montana Brown has revealed she’d consider doing Strictly.

In an interview with Superdrug magazine, she said: “The only other one I’d do is Strictly, as I’m a terrible dancer and I’d love to learn properly.”

The Sun revealed the BBC had performed a U-Turn on inviting reality stars and will consider the likes of Montana and Camilla Thurlow in future.

A dance show insider said: “Though they don’t want to admit it, everyone on the production team behind Strictly is obsessed with Love Island.”

Liam Charles

Great British Bake Off star Liam Charles said that appearing on Strictly would be “so sick.”

He added: “My mum and my nan love that show, that would be hilarious.”

Chelsea Halfpenny

Casualty Star Chelsea Halfpenny’s auntie, Jill Halfpenny, won the second series back in 2004.
Speaking of rumours she’ll be appearing on the next series, Chelsea said: “I know, I read that! I always say ‘never say never’ but I just have to mention that I am not as light on my feet as my auntie – I don’t think I would have the success that she had!”

Lizzy Yarnold

Double Winter Olympic champion Lizzy Yarnold is reportedly being lined up to take part on the show this year.

A source said: “She has always admired the show but has never had a chance to consider it because of training.

“She likes making history and being the first Winter Olympian on Strictly would be another great accolade.

“She has met the show’s bosses and looks to be lined up. She is a secret boogier and would love to learn to dance.”

Coleen Rooney

Wayne Rooney’s wife is also rumoured to be taking part in Strictly this year.

A source revealed: “This would be one of Strictly’s biggest ­signings ever. And it would be a ratings ­sensation.”

Who will the professional dancers be?

Husband and wife duo Karen and Kevin Clifton have confirmed they will return to the show despite splitting up  in March 2018. 

An insider told The Mirror: “They’ll both be back. If they got back together during the months the show was on, it could be a reverse curse.

“We’re all suckers for a bit of romance and these two are hugely popular members of the Strictly family.

Nadiya Bychkova starred on Strictly Come Dancing as one of the new professional dancers for 2017 until she was voted off in week eleven, and it’s expected she’ll return in 2018.

Anton du Beke is also back but pro dancer Brendan Cole was axed from the show in January 2018. 

Karen and Kevin Clifton are rumoured to be having marriage problems, so one of them might not be back next year…

When will Strictly Come Dancing 2018 start?

The 16th series of Strictly Come Dancing is expected to return in September 2018 with Shirley, Bruno, Darcey and Craig but the BBC are yet to confirm the date.

It has been confirmed that the red carpet launch will take place on August 27, with the launch show taking place on August 31.

The last series of Strictly Come Dancing was the show’s fifteenth. It kicked off with a launch show on September 9 2017 on BBC One, and the live shows started on September 23.

It was the first time head judge Len Goodman wasn’t on the show after he retired. Shirley Ballas replaced him as head judge, joining the panel alongside Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood, and Darcey Bussell.

With the addition of Shirley, it was the first series to have two female and two male judges on the panel.
