A WOMAN’S body has been found in a Wolverhampton home after cops smashed down a door in the dead of night.
Officers launched an investigation into the circumstances of her death after making the gruesome discovery on the Charlemont Farm Estate in West Bromwich at 2am this morning.
Forensic officers scoured the flat this morning – as neighbours confirmed the couple who lived there “had not been seen for weeks”.
A blue tent could be seen this afternoon outside the terraced home in West Bromwich, which is understood to be part of an accommodation block.
Detective Inspector Warren Hines said: “The lady’s death is being treated as unexplained but it’s hoped the post mortem will soon be able to shed some light on what happened.
“It is not yet clear how long the body was there before being discovered.
