Young tennis player tipped for greatness is behind bars for intent to supply drugs

A YOUNG tennis ace tipped for the top is behind bars after getting mixed up in a county lines drugs gang.

Nemiah Fletchman, 19, had a 120mph serve by the age of 16 and was likened to US superstar Pete Sampras.

But he turned to crime to pay off credit card and car finance debts, Carlisle crown court heard.

He and Akeem Fatinikun and Cade Higson, both 19, were recruited by a Manchester gang who planned to flood Carlisle, Cumbria, with heroin and crack cocaine.

Police arrested the three in a raid on a flat in Carlisle, where they found £9,000 of class A substances, weighing scales and packaging.

Fletchman, Fatinikun and Higson, all of Manchester, were each sentenced to three years’ detention in a young offender institution after admitting possession with intent to supply.
